How does group therapy help people feel more connected
Shared Struggles, Shared Strength
Everyone in the group has faced challenges—whether it’s anxiety, depression, grief, or addiction. Hearing others’ stories reminds you that you’re not alone. This shared experience creates a powerful bond and helps dissolve feelings of isolation.

It’s Okay to Feel This Way
In group settings, you realize your emotions aren’t strange or “wrong”—they’re human. Seeing that others feel the same normalizes your experience, easing the shame or embarrassment you might carry and replacing it with acceptance.

A Circle of Support
In the group, you’ll find encouragement, empathy, and validation. It’s a space where you’re genuinely cared for and valued—a rare gift that fosters a sense of belonging.

Trust That Grows Over Time
As personal stories are shared in confidence, trust begins to take root. With time, this trust deepens, creating a supportive community that feels like home.

Helping Others, Helping Yourself
Sometimes, simply listening or offering advice to someone else can feel incredibly empowering. And when the support comes back around, you’re reminded you’re part of something bigger—a compassionate, uplifting network.

Hope in Action
Watching others further along in their journey can be inspiring. Their progress is proof that healing and change are possible, giving the entire group hope and motivation.

A Practice Ground for Connection
For those who struggle with social anxiety or relationship challenges, group therapy offers a safe, judgment-free space to practice connecting with others. It’s a chance to build confidence and take those skills into the world.
In the end, group therapy is about more than just talking—it’s about being seen, heard, and supported. It’s a space where meaningful connections flourish and emotional well-being takes root.

At the start of the group, everyone agrees in writing to keep things confidential—what’s said in the group stays in the group—no sharing personal stories or discussions beyond the meetings. However, not all situations are appropriate for group therapy.  Our staff will discuss this with you and help you determine if the group is appropriate for your specific needs.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to make up a missed session.  For individuals who need more flexibility, individual sessions would be more appropriate.

No problem! The way that Dr. Ginny facilitates these groups, they are designed to be available for all levels of experience.
